Why I'm adding an AI category to my blog this year

Why an AI Category?

I am adding an AI category to my blog this year. Not because I’m going all in on AI, but because I do find myself utilising AI tools to enhance my workflow and so it makes sense to document my experiences and share insights where appropriate.

I am not an AI fanboy, nor do I believe that AI is the solution to all problems. In fact, I am a skeptic when it comes to the AI hype. I do think that we can still call AI slop and I am uncomfortable with some of the ways in which it is being misused, overhyped, and misunderstood. At some point I may begin to write about some of the absurdities that I have encountered but for now, I want to focus on where I have sound it to be genuinely useful such as automation and code assistance.

I do not however, want to use AI to help with writing in this blog. Whilst I am using AI to help me with checking the blog for inaccuracies, I am not using it for content generation. There’s no point in me blogging if it’s not me doing the blogging. I do continue to use Unsplash for images too.
